You Too Can Install Solar Lights

If you’re like a lot of people living in the world today, you’re likely concerned about conserving electricity and helping the planet conserve its natural resources.  One way that’s quite inexpensive and easy to get started doing this is with solar lights.  One thing that often stops people from taking the first step and installing solar lights is that they’re afraid that they will not be able to do the work themselves and they don’t want to hire a contractor to do it for them.

You would probably be pretty surprised at how easy it is to install solar lights.  Solar lights come with a few simple components that can be easily installed with a few simple hand tools.  The first component of a solar light is the actual solar panel.  The solar panel is a small panel that has a mounting bracket attached to it.  The first step in installing solar lights is to decide where you’re going to mount the solar panel.  It’s a good idea to mount the panel in a location that will see if the most sunlight as possible throughout the day.  This is generally facing south.  When you have discovered the location that you are going to mount the solar panel simply, fasten the panel to the wall with the supplied mounting screws.

The final step in installing solar lights is to securely fasten the cord to the wall so that it doesn’t get pulled off.  It’s best to use plastic insulated electrical staples for this.  The staples can be driven into the wall with a simple hammer.
