My garden and patio area need some punch and what better way than to spruce things up with garden lighting. Light in itself has inspired many an artist from painters to photographers. Why not inspire me to illuminate my backyard and bring some additional beauty to the space.
There are many type of garden lights available, the sky is the limit so to speak. Let’s start with solar lights. They are now more affordable than ever and are available everywhere including Big Lots and Target for reasonable prices. In doing my research for outdoor garden lighting I can across some beautiful art glass solar lights that are works of art all by themselves. The blown glass lights are not going to light up any pathways or to use for deck lights as they don’t cast light but just glow.
There are lights that are eco-friendly that do light up the garden pathway very nice and have the super bright white LED lights that provide hours of bright light to safe passage up and down stairs and are available at many of your local retail outlets.
Of course there are many styles available that can be hardwired into any configuration that you want. These will be powered by a low voltage electric current and provide light to your pathways, driveways and landscape so that you can actually see where you are walking. Low voltage landscape lights also are a fairly eco-friendly choice since they conserve energy with only using a little electricity.
Be sure and whichever style of garden lights you choose that you use just enough to project the effect you want and not too much so that the beautiful effect is lost in illumination. You want your outdoor lighting to enhance and provide security where needed but not so much as people might think there is some sort of sale going on.
